A level Computer Science is a lot more than just playing about with computers. Although the practical aspects of the subject form an enjoyable part of the course, at its heart Computer Science is about a systematic approach to solving problems. This, together with a firm basis of facts about computer systems, provides a course that is recognised for its academic worth alongside the more traditional subjects. Strongly recommended to be taken with Mathematics.

What you need to get on

Minimum sixth form entry requirement of five GCSE grades 9-5 including grade 5 in English and Mathematics. Subject crtieria: GCSE grade 7 in Computer Science if studied. If not studied, grade 5 in English , grade 7 in Mathematics is required.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
