Unit 1 - this unit tests students ability to program, as well as their theoretical knowledge of Computer Science. Fundamentals of programming, data structures,algorithms. Theory of computation and the skills required from having systematic approach to problem solving. Unit 2 - This unit tests students ability to to answer questions from subject content. Fundamentals of data representation, computer systems, computer organisation and architecture,communication and networking, databases and functional programming. Big data and consequences of uses of computing.

Grade 6 GCSE Maths AND Grade 6 GCSE Computing (if Computing not taken, entry will be at the Subject Leader’s discretion on a case-by-case basis)

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
