We recognise the importance of Computer Science. So does the Russell Group, which states that A-level Computer Science is 'essential' or 'useful' for 22 different degree courses. The Russell Group represents 24 ading UK universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol, LSE, Edinburgh and Cardiff. This qualification gives students a solid grounding in Computer Science, including an understanding of computer systems, the principles of programming and problem-solving. It is excellent preparation for a university degree in computer science as well as other courses, or career opportunities in the wider field of technology.

What you need to get on

4 GCSEs, Grade 9-6 including a Grade 9-6 in Computer Science. Grade 6 in Maths and a preference to study Maths at A-level. (which would require a Grade 7)

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
