Chemistry forms an obvious link with many other subject areas. For this reason Ashmole students often include Chemistry within a diverse range of A-level studies. The course provides an excellent grounding for those students who choose to pursue a career in Chemistry or a related subject. The majority of Ashmole students enter university on completion of the A-level course. The range of courses and careers that incorporate Chemistry is limitless. Medicine, Pharmacy, Teaching, Nursing and Public Health are only a few of the careers in which Chemistry is an essential ingredient.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 passes at grade 5 or higher at GCSE, 3 of which must be a grade 6 or higher. Within these passes there must be a grade 5 or higher in English Language and Maths, and a 7 7 in Combined Science or 7 6 6 in Triple Science and a 6 in Maths.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
