What the college says
This is a part time course . It enables you to master the necessary basic barbering skills and achieve a certificate that is relevant to industry. The expected contact time will be approximately one evening/afternoon per week with students expected to devote around 3 hours per week in private study. You will be taught using up to date resources that are appropriate to your individual learning style.
What you need to get on
You will need to have or be working towards a Level 2 Hairdressing qualification or have relevant industrial experience. It will help you build a solid foundation of knowledge and skills delivered by a specialist barbering tutor with extensive industrial and teaching experience.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
