What the college says
On completion of the course learners are competent enough to complete small jobs for family and friends. Door fitting, skirting and architrave, and flooring techniques are some of the skills gained.
What you need to get on
3 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above to include English and maths. Students who do not meet the entry requirements will be given consideration for a relevant vocational qualification If you are under 19 and you do not already have English & Maths GCSE grades A-C or equivalent you will be required to undertake GCSE or Functional Skills alongside your main qualification.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
