**This course is free if you are in receipt of certain benefits or earning less than £35,864. You will need to bring your proof of this and your ID when you come to enrol.

What you need to get on

You will need basic digital skills to work online and keep your work organised in a file. To enrol you must complete an initial assessment and pass at Level 1 or above. The assessment will be a written task and an online BKSB assessment. You will need to be working or volunteering for one/two days a week in a school or college for the duration of the course. Learners must organise their own placement.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
