This course is designed for people wishing to pursue a career in the health and fitness sector as gym-based fitness instructors. It is the first year of a possible three-year programme towards qualifying as a Level 3 Personal Trainer and Level 4 Advanced Personal Trainer.This qualification must be achieved before moving on to study a Level 3 Personal Training qualification.

What you need to get on

Minimum entry requirements for this course are set at five GCSEs at grade 3 or better. There is the opportunity to resit either English OR Maths should your GCSE profile support this.Some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights, is highly recommended. The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential.
