This course is funded by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority's Adult Skills Fund. You will be required to attend lessons every Monday afternoon. 2.15-5.15pm The CACHE Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Certificate is designed for those working under supervision in face to face roles with children, young people (aged 5-19 years) in an education setting, who would like to gain a teaching assistant qualification. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to work with children and young people. A Teacher or Trainer Assessor will deliver the knowledge sessions each week. Your Trainer Assessor and undertake assessment of your practice in the workplace setting. DBS checks are required to undertake a voluntary placement. These will be undertaken by the setting or Wirral Metropolitan College upon payment of the required fee.
What you need to get on
You must be 19 or over on or before 31st August to study on this course. To study a Level 2 qualification, you will need: A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade 3 or D, including English (or L1 Functional Skills in English) to be discussed at interview. In addition to this, you are required to have a placement in a school setting for 6 to 12 hours per week.
