This course is perfect if you’re looking for a career in the world of business and want an overview of some of the wide range of options available. You will learn about the important elements of enterprise in the world of business. This will range from understanding marketing, finance and teamwork to focusing on areas that include retail and customer service environments. You will also look at the ownership and structures of different businesses and decide on the best option for you when planning your own business start-up. As part of this course all students will work as a team to raise funds for a local charity and will also take part in work experience to enhance employability skills. Students are able to re-sit GCSE English and/or Maths at the same time as studying this course.

What you need to get on

Two GCSEs at grade 4/C or above plus English at grade 3/D or above

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
