This course is ideal for you if you have completed a L1 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery. It will build on your knowledge and develop your practical skills to an industry recognised level. During the course you will study the following modules: -Health & Safety -Use of Bench Machinery -Marking and setting out joinery work -Producing bench joinery -Developing practical skills -Underpinning knowledge & good practice Maths, English and IT will be an important part of your course. You will continue to develop these skills and may work towards a qualification at an appropriate level.

What you need to get on

To get onto the course you will need the pre-requisite of either: - Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery - Relevant Woodworking and Joinery experience. You will also need a suitable reference and interview. If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview. Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
