What the college says

The Level 3 Education and Training Award is an introduction to teaching and training within the post 16 sector (e. g. learners/adults over the age of 16) . This is the only teaching qualification that you can study which does not require you to be already working as a teacher/trainer. Studying this course will enable you to gain the knowledge and skills required by teacher/trainers in further education and the training skills sector.

What you need to get on

There are no formal entry qualifications for the Education and Training Award, although you must be aged 19+. If you do not hold a Level 2 qualification in English or Maths you should consider taking them, as to teach in FE you will be expected to hold them. If you are concerned about the above entry requirements an alternative course available is the Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 3 and Early Years Educator Level 3.
