What the college says

The Level 3 Award provides an introduction to teaching that will give you an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training, how to plan and deliver inclusive teaching/training sessions and how to assess and give constructive and developmental feedback. You will have the opportunity to plan and deliver a teaching session (micro teach) as well as observe your fellow classmates when they deliver their own micro teaching session. The course will be delivered face to face.

What you need to get on

You need to have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in the subject that you would like to teach. Ideally you will have Level 2 English and Maths. All applicants will be required to undertake an initial assessment of skills in English and demonstrate that you are able to produce written work that is at level 2. You must have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word in order to write the assignments. 5-7 hours study time outside the taught session is recommended.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
