at The Bournemouth and Poole College, Poole · college
What the college says
Would you love to become a teacher in the Further Education sector? Are you passionate about learning and helping others to learn? Then the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) is for you. This is a short, part- time course designed to start your career in teaching, learning and assessment. There are no entry requirements, other than being functional in English and Maths. However, you will need to be over 18 years of age. As students will be working at Level 3 (A Level) standard, between 3 to 5 hours additional learning a week on top of the classroom hours would be recommended and is dependent on how experienced you are at writing/researching at this level. The AET Award is a mandatory minimum qualification for all those teaching in the Learning and Skills Sector and replaces the old PTLLS qualification.
What you need to get on
It is preferred that you have a minimum Level 3 qualification in your own area of specialism and hold a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths. There are no requirements for teaching practice during this course.
