What the college says
Aspire is a programme that runs 4 days per week 9am to 3pm. It enable young people to take an accredited award in Enterprise through Gateway Qualification at entry 1 or entry 2 depending on the young person's ability. The curriculum is rich and varied and allows young people to develop their English and maths skills as well as speaking and listening so that they can speak up about their own plans for their adulthood. Young people on Aspire will have the chance to develop vocational skills from a range of choices and have English, maths, ICT, art, drama, music, wider world and employability as part of their programme. Aspire is a pathway for learners that need to build their skills to move on to the pathways that have more accredited learning within them. Aspire can be a finishing course for Learning for Life learners or a starting course for those that want to move on through the Entry 2 and Entry 3 pathways but may lack the confidence or ability in basic skills.
What you need to get on
You will be assessed through a transition and induction programme which will ensure that you develop your communication, social, independence, reading, writing and numeracy skills at an appropriate level. There are no specific entry requirements for this programme and your individual learning plan will be developed to ensure that you achieve your goals. P

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

A supported starting point if exams have not gone well yet.
Is it open to 16 to 18 year olds?
Not on the Section 96 list, but a school or college runs it full time, so check the age range with them.
