What the college says
AS Chemistry is examined by two written papers at the end of year 12. Each paper is 1hour 30 minuteslong and have equal weighting for the overall AS grade. The papers each consist of 65 marks of short and long answer questions and 15 marks of multiple choice questions. Paper 1 assesses Physical and Inorganic Chemistry, Paper 2 assesses Physical and Organic Chemistry. Both papers assess relevant practical skills. Students are required to carry out a minimum of 6 practicals in year 12.

5 Grade 4 or above at GCSE including Maths and English Language plus grade 6 at Higher Tier in Science

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
