What the college says

Candidates choosing A level Fine Art have the opportunity to follow an exciting two year course that integrates practical, critical and theoretical study. You will be given the chance to work with a wide variety of media and processes, and thus experience art in the broadest sense from 2D to 3D. At each stage, the course is designed to build on and extend skills, enabling learners to become more confident and independent in their practice. Students will enjoy opportunities to build on knowledge, skills and understanding of media and processes gained through gallery and museum visits, artist workshops, life drawing opportunities and have access to exhibit work in both local and national exhibitions. In your second year, support is provided with portfolio preparation for higher education interviews. This course supports students who wish to continue onto any creative based courses in higher education, apprenticeships or employment.
