The AQA Art and Design A Level course is designed to enable candidates to develop personal responses to ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures. The new structure of the course enables students to focus on personal interests and work to their strengths as they build up their strengths. The A Level Art and Design course will provide a strong foundation for further study of Art and Design or related subjects that require creative thinking in Higher Education. Students work closely with their teachers and are well supported through every stage of the structured course, this allows them to build confidence and develop independent study skills. There is a focus on drawing with all students experiencing an exciting range of artistic and creative methods including painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, digital Art and Design, ceramics and multimedia. Regular assessment and personal tutorials ensure that students are clear about their strengths and know where they can develop further.
