What you need to get on

The best foundation for success in A Level Art and Design is a good grade at GCSE. The new A level course builds on the skills knowledge and understanding acquired by students who have taken Art at GCSE. Certification at B grade or above at GCSE is the ideal prerequisite of the A Level course, as it is expected that students will have developed sufficient understanding and skill before embarking on the course. A minimum grade of a C or above in English at GCSE is also essential to start this course. The A Level in Art requires high levels of motivation and students must be prepared to work hard at developing abilities and commit time outside of taught lessons in order to succeed on the course.
