Art (craft) and design A level begins with a course of workshops, studying approaches to drawing and painting, experimental photography, print making and 3D design. During the course you will investigate ideas, explore themes and respond to briefs, mainly across the Fine Art and Photography disciplines, but will also tap into Graphic Communication, Textiles and 3D design. Students will be encouraged to explore and experiment with their ideas in new ways, as well as building on their preferences and strengths. Digital media techniques will be taught and can be explored as a tool for studies or as the main focus of a project.

What you need to get on

2 GSCE Grade 7. A 7+ in the chosen subject and a 6 or better in English and Mathematics.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
