A Level Art & Design Fine Art is the area of Art and Design primarily concerned with personal expression; producing something individual and creative. Work may be objective and analytical, or emotive and expressive, but fundamentally it is the response of the individual, using the language of the visual arts to reflect a critical and historic understanding of the subject. Art A Level incorporates and builds on the aims and patterns of work established in GCSE Art, allowing a natural progression in Art education both for those who intend to undertake further studies (a Foundation year and then a 3 year Degree course) and those who have an interest in and aptitude for the subject, but do not intend to take it further.

What you need to get on

Grade 6 in Art and Design and a Grade 6 in English is also advisable

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
