Art and Design
at King Ecgbert School, Sheffield · school or sixth form
What the college says
You will learn how to develop ideas from a range of starting points. From classroom based observational studies, sketchbook work and personal research into the work of others, students will work based on a range of themes. The range of media used will include drawing, painting, textiles, printing, sculpture, ceramics and photography. Various visits to galleries take place, including our visits to London and Sheffield Galleries. Gallery visits are a very important element of the course. The trip to London involves visiting the Tate Britain Museum, which houses the British collection of art from the 19th and 20th century. We then travel by boat to the Tate Modern which houses the nation’s collection of modern and contemporary art.
