This course has followed the AQA 'AS' level Fine Art specification with the aims of developing the student's abilities to appreciate the visual world, to respond in a personal and creative way and experience intellectual and practical challenges. The skills developed are varied and include a working knowledge of the practices and techniques within Art, Craft and Design, the ability to interpret and convey ideas and feelings with a variety of materials and media creatively and to develop imaginative, experimental and analytical works through to realisation. Students will also have explored the historical and contextual aspects of their ideas and will have used a specialist vocabulary in order to express their knowledge and understanding.
