What the college says
This is an Art-based course that gives you an opportunity to engage and experiment with a medium that is at the heart of the modern communications industry. You will develop critical, historical and contextual awareness together with a good working knowledge of camera, studio, digital and darkroom practice. Many students go on to study photography as part of other creative or media courses at foundation level and beyond.
What you need to get on
The minimum entry requirements for students are the best 8 GCSE grades, totalling 38 or higher. For example, two Grade 6s, two Grade 5s, and four Grade 4s. In addition, students also need to have secured a Grade 4 GCSE in Mathematics and English; Grade 5 in GCSE Art or a Grade 5 in Design and Technology.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
