If you have a qualification in History, people know that you have taken on certain key skills which can be applied to a wide variety of situations. Studying History will help you develop practical skills that are valuable in a range of jobs. You will develop an appreciation for the impact of the interaction, motives and emotions of people and learn about countries and societies to understand how current conflicts have roots in the past.

What you need to get on

GCSE English grade (9-5) and Maths (9-4) plus 3 GCSEs at grades 9-4 with a grade 6 or above in History.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
