Two year course encouraging critical thought about social processes and changes - through crime, law making, social attitudes and the decline in formal religion and through the influence of individuals, social protest and social movements. Students will also demonstrate the use of theory and concepts in sociological debate and research and evaluate sociological research methods and practice. There is a strong element of discussion which enables students to think deeply about moral and social issues, whilst debating their beliefs with others.
