What the college says

Sociology is the study of how society is organised and how we experience life. Sociology deals with global questions like ‘What is culture?’ During the course you will study youth culture, family life and what makes up our identity. Dimensions of identity including social class, ethnicity, gender and age will be discussed and evaluated. Sociology is a useful subject for a wide range of professional jobs. It is increasingly noticeable that barristers, solicitors, journalists, teachers, politicians, police officers and many business people have a background in sociology.
