This course is for anyone move on from GCSE with an interest in sport and physical education. You might be choosing it because you're headed for a career in the sports industry, though it will equip you with transferable skills such as teamwork, resilience and leadership that can be used in a wide range of careers. You'll need enthusiasm and a commitment to training and performing regularly in a chosen sport. A-level PE combines well with subjects including physics, chemistry, biology and psychology.

What you need to get on

A minimum of grade 6 in English Language, a grade 5 in Science and a grade 5 in GCSE PE, if studied. For students who have not studied GCSE PE, the proven ability to participate in a sport to a very good standard (i.e. school or club level)

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
