A Photography A Level will develop your ability to appreciate photography as an art form, take high quality photographs using digital and manual photography and learn the chemical process for dark room developing all through responding to the visual world in an independent and creative way. This is a two year course.

What you need to get on

This course is introduced at this level, there are no previously taught skills to build upon. You will need a creative eye, be self-motivated and determined to learn and succeed. You must be prepared to work hard and actively participate both in lessons and out of school, to find locations. To complete sketchbook work to support each coursework component. Independent visits to galleries are encouraged to source ideas for practical work. Grade 5 or above in a creative subject OR Merit at BTEC.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
