The opportunities for students of Mathematics are vast and it complements and supports other courses, for example: Physics, Chemistry, Design Technology and Business Studies. Mathematics is a facilitating subject and support is available for the most able mathematicians to sit the Advanced Extension Award in Mathematics and/or Step Papers as part of their offers for universities. Mathematics leads onto many careers and university pathways such as: Accountancy, Economics, Teaching, Engineering, Bio-Chemistry, Quantity Surveying, Police, Medicine and Business Management.

What you need to get on

Students must achieve a minimum of 6 GSCEs at Grade 4 or above including English Language. Grade 6 or above in GCSE Mathematics and Science.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
