Students will develop a range of transferable skills including the ability to analyse, debate, create a strong argument and communicate effectively. A well trained historian can process facts, arguments and viewpoints and build up strong points of view. Employers rate the skills of a historian very highly and history students find employment in a wide range of jobs including Research, Journalism and the Media, Management, Public Relations and Law. Students cover four units, two in each year of study.

What you need to get on

Five GCSEs at grades 9-5 including English Language and Maths. Grade 6 or above in GCSE History.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
