Studying the Subject - We encourage students to understand the physical processes that have shaped our landscapes and consider the way that human interference with natural processes may have an impact in the future. Human Geography is studied through themes, which involve considering different parts of the world, both the high and low income countries, with an emphasis on how the different regions interact. Physical Geography in Year 12 is supported further with a field trip to Slapton Sands Field study centre in Devon. In Year 13 a local based field trip further supports the geographical skills paper. As a department we also offer a trip to Iceland, one of the most unique landscapes in the world.

What you need to get on

Subject Specific Entry Requirements: DRHS 4 - Students should have achieved Grade 7 or equivalent in GCSE Geography. DRHS 3 - Students should have achieved Grade 6 in GCSE Geography. In exceptional circumstances, we may consider students who have been unable to study GCSE Geography but must have achieved at least a Grade 6 (or equivalent) GCSE Science.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
