The Art department offers two exciting Post 16 courses. Students are encouraged to experiment with ideas and materials within a nurturing environment which promotes maturity. The support of subject specialist teachers enables students to reach a new breadth of creativity in their work. The department contains a variety of specialist equipment including: oil and acrylic paints; print making; a kiln for firing ceramics, a darkroom for processing traditional black and white photography, digital SLR cameras and a photography studio for students’ use.

What you need to get on

This course is open to students who have achieved a grade 6 in GCSE Art along with a grade 4 in both English (Language or Literature) and Mathematics. In addition, a total of 360 points from your best 8 GCSEs is also required, details of which can be found on the school website.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
