A Level Film Studies will offer you an opportunity to explore a range of contemporary and historical films and film movements. As well as developing your enjoyment of film, you will be encouraged to acquire critical and practical skills through the construction and analysis of a variety of film texts culminating in a five minute short film for coursework. The course is demanding but very rewarding and is excellent preparation for a wide range of post-18 study and employment options.

What you need to get on

Standard Entry Requirements including GCSE Grade 5 or above in English Language or English Literature. A genuine interest in film and ideally some practical experience with digital photography and video.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
