Fashion is a powerful form of self-expression and storytelling, an area steeped in history with connections to wider areas of art and design. The Fashion and Textiles A Level course keeps students on the pulse of the ever-evolving fashion industry, blending creativity with current trends and technology through contemporary design practices, sustainable materials and innovative production techniques. The course offers hands-on experience in design and construction. Practical work is underpinned with theoretical knowledge linked to the processing and manufacturing of textiles, as well as historical, cultural and economic influences on design. They will consider how they as designers, can make informed choices which in turn empowers them to be responsible citizens who advocate for a more sustainable and equitable industry. The course aims to build student’s confidence to succeed in careers related to the fashion, textiles and wider creative industries.
What you need to get on
6/above in Design and Technology, or an Art and Design subject, or submission of an accepted portfolio in advance. All students must also have a 5/above in Mathematics and English Language/Literature

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
