A Level Fashion and Textiles allows you to extend understanding of your own design ethos. Where you will carry out one NEA (non-exam assessment) which is worth 50% of the final grade and two examinations, one worth 30% and the other 20% of the final grade. This is a linear course. You will study how designers work in industry when designing and making quality products. You will build your knowledge of materials, components and processes and apply learning in practice to create functional and fashionable solutions which appeal to a target market. What you need to get on

A core requirement of the subject is the ability to draw and present concepts and design ideas. It is important you can communicate your thinking clearly and represent ideas concisely. A Merit 2 in Textiles is required OR a design related subject.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
