At AS you will study two units Unit 1 a is micro economics unit, Markets and Market Failure which ensures you gain an appreciation of the allocation of resources, the market model and selected aspects of what makes markets efficient or fail. Unit2 The National Economy sees candidates introduced to how levels of macro economic activity are determined and also investigates key national economic indicators, policies and problems At A2 the principal focus in unit 3 Business Economics and the Distribution of Income is on more complex microeconomic models such as market structures, developing a more critical approach to such economic models and methods of enquiry. You are also required to develop a more formal understanding of economic efficiency and the arguments for and against government intervention in markets. Unit 4 The Global Economy provides the conceptual framework for the understanding, analysis, and evaluation of macro economic performance in national, regional and global contexts
