The course is designed to expand and build upon the basics learnt at GCSE level, focusing on those topics that explain many aspects of the environment around us in terms of the material world.

What you need to get on

Minimum grade 7 in GCSE Chemistry or Grades 8-8 in Double Science and Grade 7 in GCSE Mathematics. General qualification requirements must also be met: GCSE English and Maths at grades 4-9; minimum three GCSEs at grades 6-9, and a further three GCSEs at grades 5-9. Native modern foreign languages are not normally counted. GCSE subject grades may only be counted once.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
