What the college says

Art Textiles A Level gives you the scope to develop a very creative approach to both textiles and fashion, underpinned by art and design principles. Three-dimensional shape will be explored through creative and experimental pattern drafting, draping and garment development. The independent nature of the course will allow you to follow your own area of interest, whether that be fashion, textiles, fibre or installation art. You will have the opportunity to participate in specialist workshops including life drawing and fashion illustration. Textile artists and fashion designers, working currently and historically, will be investigated; visits to museums and galleries are an integral part of the study, including regular visits to the V&A and Tate Modern. Opportunities for career progression are broad and numerous and include careers in fashion design, textile design, and costume design, as well as other related creative careers such as architecture, interiors, marketing, and digital media.
