If you choose to study A-level Photography, you will need to be excited by the idea of using cameras, lights and digital applications to produce creative outcomes. You will also need to be committed to an intensive course of study and prepared to devote a lot of time to the production of high-quality work. You will explore a broad range of processes and techniques, learning amazing new skills in our fully equipped, state of the-art digital photo studio as well as the traditional darkroom. If you choose to study A-level Art, Craft and Design you will need to have previous experience of art and design evidenced by success at GCSE or by presentation of a portfolio of relevant artwork. Work will be undertaken in a studio environment with access to specialist equipment and resources. The course provides students with the opportunity to develop their skills and creativity through exploration of a variety of techniques, approaches and workshops.

What you need to get on

5 GCSEs at Grade 9 - 4, including English Language OR Literature and Maths. AND Grade 5 or above in an art-based subject (if studied at GCSE).

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
