What the college says
Within Art, Craft and Design you will select a specialist area of study from Fine Art, Art Textiles or Graphic Design. You will then initially be taught the core concepts of Art and Design before developing your skills and learning new techniques appropriate to your Specialist Area. All of the courses are very practical in nature though there will be some written work especially in the second year of the full course. Most students will be entered for the AS Exam during Year 12.
What you need to get on
You would normally have successfully completed a GCSE Art and Design course (Art and Design, Art Textiles or Graphics) achieving at least a grade 5. If you do not have a relevant GCSE Art qualification you will be asked to submit a small portfolio of studies before being offered a place.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
