Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of Health and Safety practice, Anatomy and Physiology. You will also develop knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification. The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in hairdressing to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own basic salon services.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-3 including English or maths.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
