Students will be expected to develop knowledge and understanding of the disciplines throughout the course. Students will be expected to record, analyse and evaluate. Students will need to use photography to develop ideas through sustained investigation and exploration. Use photography to present a personal, coherent and informed response, realising intentions and showing connections with the work of others. Demonstrate effective and skilful use of equipment. Year 12 consists of unit 1 personal portfolio, unit 2 externally set assignment, Year 13 consists of unit 3 Practical work and Personal study, unit 4 externally set assignment.

What you need to get on

Due to the skill-based nature of the course it is a requirement that you have achieved a grade 5 or above in GCSE art, photography or textiles or any equivalent visual arts-based course. However a varied portfolio of work with evidence of strong drawing skill would be considered in the absence of an Art & Design GCSE or equivalent.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
