What the college says

The ideal student will have found GCSE in French quite straightforward and enjoyable. The course aims to build on knowledge gained at GCSE, studying topics in greater depth and maturity. French combines well with a whole host of other subjects. It can be of particular use to students who are studying science, history, business studies, geography and arts/humanities subjects – in other words, it goes well with all subjects either as a specialism or as a ‘second string to your bow’. Many degree subjects now offer the opportunity to spend some of the time abroad, thus gaining a qualification recognised in two countries, e.g. law, business, economics etc. During the course, we actively encourage students to take part in the work experience programme run by Halsbury.

Grade 6 or higher in GCSE French

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
