This qualification is designed for learners who wish to pursue a career as a beauty therapist. Learners will develop knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients and provide a wide range of specialised facial and body treatments. Students will also develop knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and other related essential knowledge. Learners will work in a busy commercial salon environment and develop communication and customer service skills together with research and problem solving skills.

What you need to get on

It is expected students will have achieved either one of the following qualifications at a pass. Level 2 Beauty Therapy Level 2 Hair and Media make-up Entry onto any course at East Durham College is subject to final approval from the Assistant Principal. Where relevant, the term ‘entry requirements’ also includes DBS checks, references, fitness to practice, etc.

Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.
