The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Preparation for Public Services is designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success when moving towards a career in the uniformed services, for example police force, fire and rescue service, prison service or armed forces.
What you need to get on
4 GCSEs (9-3) including English and Maths, or Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent, or satisfactory results (Merit/Distinction) in a relevant Level 1 qualification and an interview.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
