The course is designed to enable you to pursue a career in the visual creative industries by developing the skills needed to succeed in a competitive environment. Through project assignments, you'll have the opportunity to explore a range of digital based design disciplines such as Graphic Design, Illustration, Animation/Motion Graphics, Digital Photography, Media Production and Visual Communication. The aim of this course is to develop your skills and a knowledge base in the field of graphic design covering disciplines in print design, motion graphics and interactive media. Your portfolio will show samples of work, which explore digital and artistic techniques, methods and approaches. You'lll also develop cultural awareness and a mature attitude towards a potential career in their chosen field. The course covers core skills such as drawing, printmaking, creative thinking, design theory, research and communication skills. In addition specific software skills will be gained in industry-based packages such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere. The majority of students who successfully complete the course progress to Higher Education. Alternatively students have gone straight into employment and have developed careers in the industry.
