The Level 2 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts provides a full-time introduction to performance, production and design for the Performing Arts that give students a broad, practical experience and develops an understanding of Performing Arts as a collaborative activity. This course will support any student in developing the creative, technical, and organisational skills required to progress onto Level 3 study in Performance, Dance or Production. Students are encouraged to be creative and expressive through a range of practical, hands-on workshops and performances, where they will develop skills in voice, movement, and characterisation. There will be opportunities throughout the year to perform extracts from plays. Students will work towards creating their own pieces of devised theatre using a range of stimuli and performing these for assessment.

What you need to get on

To study this course you will need three GCSEs at Grade 3 including English Language (or English Literature) and/or Maths.

How you are assessed

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
