What the college says

This qualification will give you an all-round introduction to the travel and tourism sector for those who wish to further their career in one of its many connecting industries such as retail or business travel, tour operations, accommodation, visitor attractions or cruising. There will be an exciting programme of UK and overseas visits available to select from, with past destinations including Edinburgh, Disneyland Paris, Barcelona, Poland and Amsterdam. On completion of the course, you can continue in your studies with a BA Tourism Management, or go on to professional work as a travel agent, overseas rep, tour operations, or in customer services in a variety of tourist attractions and the hospitality sector.

4 x GCSEs at grade 3(D) or above, or Level 1 Subject Qualification

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
