What the college says
You will gain skills and knowledge in media make-up including applying small ready-made prosthetic pieces and bald caps, postiche, theatrical make-up airbrushing, fashion and photographic make-up, creative style and dress hair, face and body art. This qualification is approved and supported by HABIA, the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications. All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies. Those who have already achieved a Level 2 Hair and Media Make Up, Beauty Therapy or Hairdressing qualification who are looking to specialise in the industry or gain an additional qualification.
